Tommy C. Peterson, 87, of Wyanet passed away Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.
Born March 8, 1930, in Detroit, Mich., to Evert Ansgar and Lorraine F. (Drea) Peterson, he married Mary Ann Weaver in Nashville, Tenn. They divorced.
He retired as a lieutenant colonel from the U.S. Air Force, where he served during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sheffield.
Surviving are his ex-wife, Mary Ann Moses of Andalusia, Ala.; three sons, Todd (Kelly) Peterson of Wyanet, Mark Peterson of Andalusia, Ala., and Vance (Jennifer) Peterson of Wyanet; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Jill Holly Albritton.
There will be no services. Cremation rites will be accorded and burial will be at a later date in the Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton.
Memorials may be directed to the Wyanet Rescue Squad.
