Michael H. Talbot, 71, of Kimberling City, MO, formerly of Princeton, Il, passed away peacefully at the home of his step- daughter (Paul and Karleen Hallman) on Friday, April 5th at 10pm He was surrounded by his loving family.
Michael was born on May 25, 1952 in LaSalle, Illinois, the son of Michael Harvey and Elizabeth (Deditch) Talbot. He graduated from Princeton High School in 1970.
Michael married Margaret McCulley on July 2, 1988.
Michael worked at LCN in Princeton, for more than 30 years, while he was also a fireman for Bureau, Il for 10 years then worked part-time for the Princeton Fire Department as a certified fireman III, EMT and CPR instructor. Michael was selected as EMT of the Year in 1986.
Mike retired from LCN in 2013; worked as a maintenance manager at Schneider's until 2016 and then moved to Branson West, Missouri where he enjoyed working part-time at Silver Dollar City.
Mike loved playing golf with friends and family. He was a trivia master on music- especially 50’s and 60’s and was a car enthusiast. He would always look for the fastest 4-wheeler, go-cart or vehicle in his friendly competitions. He was loved for his wit, sense of humor and adventurous spirit.
Survivors are his wife, Margaret, two daughters, Shana (Jason) Allen and Brandy (Darren) Genslinger, and three children by marriage, Michael (Deb) Cass of Roscoe, Tom Wiley of Cambridge, and Karleen (Paul) Hallman of Village of Lakewood, Illinois as well as 12 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren with one on the way, brother, William Green, brother-in-law, Dwyane Wright, along with many adoring nieces and nephews and extended family.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Cynthia Wright.
Services will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Bradford, Illinois with Reverend Dan Wright, officiating. Visitation will be prior to service from 1:30pm-2:30pm. Burial will be at Osceola Grove Cemetery immediately following the services.
Memorials may be directed to Wounded Warriors Project and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
