Robert D. Feurer, age 96 of Sheffield passed away Thursday February 22, 2024 at OSF Saint Paul Medical Center in Mendota, IL He was born September 27, 1927 in rural Wyanet to Elmer and Mildred (Trimmer) Feurer.

Bob served two years in the United States Army at the Great Lakes Medical Hospital.  He met his wife, Carmeline Bernabei, at the Les Buz roller rink in Peru, IL. They married October 14, 1950.

Bob was a Ford car salesman for over 64 years, including 21 years as sales manager at Browning Ford in Princeton. He won numerous sales awards. Bob and his wife enjoyed many trips he earned from the Ford Motor Company.

He took pride in his yard and enjoyed tractor pulls, stock car races and snowmobiling trips in Wisconsin.

He was a life member of the Bureau County Fair, past member of the Sheffield Homecoming Association and the Sheffield Fire Department and worked 25 years at the Bureau County Speedway. 

Surviving are a daughter Diane (Dennis) Stocking, Concord CA, and four sons: David (Connie) Feurer, of Kewanee, Dan Feurer, of Norwood, IL, Dale Feurer, of Tempe, AZ, and Darren Feurer, of Sheffield, four grandchildren, Brian Feurer, Amber (Jim) Buckley, Derek Stocking and Kevin Feurer. Four great grandchildren: Ella Buckley, Ava Buckley, Camden Buckley and Anthony Stocking. Also surviving is a sister, Shirley (Everett) Carter of Princeton. He was preceded in death by his wife on January 26, 2016. 

In accordance with Bob’s wishes, there will not be a visitation and a private burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Wyanet at a later date. Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.grant-johnsonfh.com.  Donations can be made to Friends of Strays Inc., P.O. Cremated Remains will be buried at a later date.
