Lillian M. Johnson, 85, of Princeton, formerly of New Lenox, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.

Born Nov. 5, 1924, in Cicero to Joseph and Josephine (Hubna) Papez, she married Alvin E. Johnson June 26, 1943, in Cicero. He died July 8, 1992.

She graduated from Morton High School in Cicero and then worked as a typist for Rock Island Railroad in Chicago for 17 years. She and her husband dairy farmed in New Lenox for many years.

Surviving are one daughter, Sharon (David) Smith of LaMoille; four grandsons, Joseph (Jennifer) Jandura of LaMoille, James Jandura of Peoria, and Justin and Jeremy Jandura of LaMoille; one sister-in-law, Lois Hatz of Morris; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one great-granddaughter.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Woodlawn Funeral Home, Joliet, with Deacon Pistorio officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton. Chaplain Linda Murphy will officiate a prayer service. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the services Friday at the Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation in Peoria or Friends of Strays in Princeton.
