PRINCETON Gladys Bickett, 93, of Walnut, formerly of Princeton, passed away at 11:02 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018, at Heritage Health in Walnut.

Born July 15, 1924, in Princeton to Walfred and Hulda (England) Svedstrom, she married Joseph H. Bickett on Nov. 17, 1943, in Princeton. They divorced in 1970 and he died in June 1986.

She was a 1942 graduate of Malden High School. She worked for Hornsby's 5 & 10 in Princeton.

She was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Princeton.

Surviving are three daughters, Linda (Paul) Jones of Sycamore, Sandra (Gary) Rieker of Princeton and Barbara (David Dzurisin) Morman of Princeton; five grandchildren, Laura Jones of Milwaukee, Wis., Mitchell Jones of Baltimore, Md., Jeanette Morman of Princeton, Andrea (Scott) Thompson of Arrowsmith and Diane (Kent) Beyers of Davenport, Iowa; eight great-grandchildren, Clara Jones, Winton Jones, Brittany Strader, Clifton Camp, Katherine Thompson, Nathaniel Thompson, Clarissa Beyers and Madeliene Beyers; one sister, Eleanor Mead of Walnut; and one nephew, David (Paula) Mead of Princeton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Edgar Svedstrom; and two grandsons, Mark Rieker and Michael Rieker.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Princeton with Pastors Derek Boggs and John Weborg officiating. Cremation rites will be conducted at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Homes, Inc. Crematory, Princeton, and inurnment will be in Elm Lawn Memorial Park in Princeton. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the Evangelical Covenant Church in Princeton.

    Had not seen her much after Uncle Harold died
    Ran into my cousins last time I was home. Best wishes to Linda, Barb, and Sandy. Almost all the old Bickett family reunion gang have left us. Always will cherrish the Sunday picnics at the county Park!"
