Eldora H. Swearingen, 93

December 29, 1923 to February 3, 2017

Eldora H. Swearingen, 93, passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, at Liberty Village in Princeton.

Eldora was born Dec. 29, 1923, in Berlin Township, the daughter of Roy and Anna (Anderson) Thomas. She married Ted Swearingen Oct. 9, 1948, in Tiskilwa.

She graduated from Bradford High School. She had worked at Harper-Wyman and Niemie Brothers among a few others.

Eldora loved her family and especially loved to fish.

She is survived by a daughter, Sue (Bill) Verway of Princeton; two grandchildren, Marna James of Princeton and Corey (Jeri) Verway of Kewanee; four great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Heidi, Dylan and Dalton; one sister, Mollie Clausen of Sun City, Ariz.; and a few nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ted; and three brothers, Harold “Pood”, Glen and Henry.

Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
