Roger E. Fox, 92

Roger E. Fox, 92 of Wyanet passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, February 5, 2017. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 10, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Grant- Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton. Burial will take place in Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton. Military Rites will be accorded by the Wyanet V.F.W. Post 6634. A visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Grant- Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton.

He was born December 19, 1924 in Concord Twp, IL to Irvin and Doris (Roberts) Fox. He served three and a half years in the South Pacific as a member of the U.S. Navy during WWII. Roger married Betty Jean Peterson on June 17, 1956, and she survives. He was a farmer most of his life. Roger worked thirteen years for the Illinois Department of Transportation at the Princeton barn until his retirement. He was a Life Member of the Wyanet V.F.W. Post 6634, a Wyanet Township Trustee from 1991-2007, a member of the Wyanet Old Car Club, the Landing Craft Infantry National Association, and the Aviation Repair and Overhaul Unit Organization (AROU).

He is also survived by three daughters: Deborah Fox of Bloomington, IL, Diana (Jim) Frank of Princeton, IL and Danaille (Bob) Gustafson of Franklin, TN; six grandchildren: Laura (Jeff) Seitz of Princeton, IL, Jeff (Sara) Frank of Manito, IL, Rebecca Frank of Princeton, IL, and Courtney, Bobby and Joey Gustafson of Franklin, TN; and seven great- grandchildren: Stevie and Adleigh Seitz, Michaela Mall and Selena, Sabrina, Serena, and Jayden Frank. In addition, he is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law: Ruth Roberts, Dean and Anita Hinch, Dr. Gerald and Mary Peterson, James and Sharon Davis and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings: Morris, Floyd, Doris, Jacob, Joe, Leon and Burton (in infancy).

Memorials may be directed to the Illinois Cancer Care Foundation, Wyanet V.F.W. Post 6634, or the Wyanet Rescue Unit. Online condolences may be sent to www.grant-johnsonfh.com.
